Excerpt from Chante’s Song

Keith took off his jacket and placed it around my shoulders. As we walked in silence I held Keith’s arm, while my head rested on his shoulder.

He shocked me by actually agreeing to walk with me. I dated enough celebrities to know they had problems with doing stuff like this…

“Thank you,” I said breaking the silence.

“What are you thanking me for?” He asked.

“For doing something that I like.”

“So you like walking through the park in stilettos?” Keith joked.

“I like to do a lot of things in stilettos.” I replied in a sexy tone.

Keith gave me a sexy grin.

“No, Mr. Jokester.” I laughed. “I remembered I was wearing three inch heels after we began walking. But really, I enjoy taking walks. It’s hard to find someone of your stature who is willing to do little things like this.”

“So, are you looking for someone to do little things like this with?” …

“To be honest, no. But it looks like I found someone who I could consider doing little things like this with for a while.” I smiled.

“Oh, really.”

“Yes, really.” We stopped walking and I stood in front of Keith. “Keith I want you to know that what happened back at my house on Thursday and the rest of the weekend, I don’t normally do things like that.”

Keith looked at me like he did not have a clue what I was talking about.

“I don’t bring men home from clubs and have sex with them. I am not that type of girl.”

“Chante, I know who I left Uptowns with and that was not a slut.” He looked down into my eyes.

Why did Keith have to mention the word slut? Why did he have to look me directly in the eyes? I was a slut. I felt like he was reading me and he knew my secret. I had sex with him that morning and had sex with Jason in the afternoon. Now, here I was on a date with him. If I wasn’t a slut when he came home with me, I was damn sure a slut now.

“I don’t want you to think that I leave clubs with women with ideas of sexing them. What I saw at Uptowns was a beautiful woman, whom I was waiting all night to meet. I didn’t expect our meeting to involve me picking you up off the floor, or off the curb, but hey, I still thought you were sexy drunk and all.”

We both laughed.

… He smirked. “Look, I know your feet hurt, and you had goose bumps on your shoulder so would you like to go eat now?”

“Yes I would.”
